Chasing the Eclipse Music Video

I recently wrote, recorded, mixed, and edited a new song, Chasing the Eclipse. In it I wanted to showcase a few instruments that I’ve never recorded myself playing before such as ukulele and mandolin. You’ll see in the video that I’m also playing bass, acoustic guitar, 2 electric guitar parts, some synth pads, and I programmed the drums to fit the music (to the best of my ability).  The video editing was another adventure for me, but I was able to achieve what I set out to do.

The Title and Inspiration
With the upcoming solar eclipse, an article caught my attention on NASA jets that will “chase” the eclipse, extending the length of the eclipse that they experience by 3x.  This will allow them to conduct observations on the Sun and Mercury. With this in mind, the song seeks to blend the wonder of the eclipse with the excitement of racing through the air to extend the experience.
