About
The Athens Guitar Duo (AG²) is a classical guitar duo consisting of Dusty Woodruff and Matthew Anderson. The two met while studying at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA under renowned pedagogue and protégé of Andrés Segovia, John Sutherland. Their near decade of performing together has taken them all across the United States, throughout Europe, and the People’s Republic of China. Earlier this year, they did a short tour across various cities in Russia. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the AG² perform on several occasions; their musical chemistry, quality of sound, and diverse repertoire make for an entertaining and moving experience. Both Dusty and Matt play Kenny Hill guitars, one of which is a unique 11-string guitar that extends the range of the ensemble.

Albums
The Athens Guitar Duo has released two albums to date. Their most recent, “Recuerdos,” was recorded last year and features, among other great things, a unique duo arrangement of the tremolo piece by Francisco Tárrega, Recuerdos de la Alhambra.
