Joe Satriani Lesson | “Nineteen Eighty” Intro

February 23, 2020 By Sean Thrower Leave a Comment

Joe Satriani recently announced his 17th album, Shapeshifter, available April 10, 2020. As a welcomed teaser, Satriani has already shared the first single, “Nineteen Eighty.”

The intro to “Nineteen Eighty” is in pure Satriani fashion with ballsy overdrive, spacey phasers, and modal sweetness. Watch the lesson below to learn how to play it. You can also download the notation and tabs as a PDF or Guitar Pro file. If you don’t yet have Guitar Pro, it’s a helpful practice tool, seeing that you can slow down the tempo and play along to the music at your pace. You can download Guitar Pro HERE.
